Digital Press Investment Projections Special Report Just Released

One of the most requested types of information The Industry Measure receives from graphic arts industry vendors and suppliers is: how many digital presses, color scanners, wide-format printers, etc., will be bought by graphic arts professionals in the next 12 months? In the past, we have provided these data to clients individually, but we now are making our investment projections for a wide variety of graphic arts hardware, software, and equipment available as special reports

New York (Issues Wire / PRWEB) February 12, 2008 -- The Industry Measure has released an update of its "Digital Press and Printer" special report, containing the latest data drawn from The Industry Measure's regular surveys of the graphic arts markets: print and prepress establishments, graphic design and production firms, and publishing companies. The report provides the estimated number of presses/printers expected to be purchased and an estimated dollar figure of investment in that equipment. For each type of press, the report provides a range of investment scenarios, from bullish (the market at 100%, or everyone who has said that they will buy an item actually buying one) to bearish (the market at 67%--only two-thirds of those who said they will buy an item actually buying one). Each report also provides an "Industry Measure forecast," or what our analysts expect the most likely level of investment in a given equipment classification will be.

"Digital Press and Printer Investment Projections" projects graphic arts' companies planned investment in a wide variety of digital printing equipment, including:

  • digital color printing systems (broken down by major equipment classification)
  • digital color inkjet printing system
  • digital presses or printing units for packaging
  • color copier/printers
  • black-and-white digital printer/presses
  • high-speed black-and-white digital presses
  • direct-to-press systems (like QM/DI)
  • large format color printers

Other titles in the Investment Projections series of special reports include "Graphic Production Software," "Digital Imaging Hardware," and "Workstations and Servers." Future reports include "Color Printers and Proofers," "Computer to Plate Equipment," and more.

Report highlights:
In the next 12 months:

  • print and prepress establishments will spend more than $1.5 billion on digital color printing systems;
  • publishers will spend an estimated $76 million on color copiers;
  • design and production establishments will spend an estimated $22 million on large-format color printers.
