The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a global education and professional association that defines excellence and establishes standards for the new business science of strategic talent management, in collaboration with Watson Wyatt Worldwide, a leading global consulting firm, will host intranet and portal guru, Michael Rudnick, for a Master’s Webcast presentation on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. EST.

Washington, D.C. (Issues Wire / PRWEB) March 12, 2008 -- The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a global education and professional association that defines excellence and establishes standards for the new business science of strategic talent management, in collaboration with Watson Wyatt Worldwide, a leading global consulting firm, will host intranet and portal guru, Michael Rudnick, for a Master’s Webcast presentation on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. EST.

Rudnick, Global Practice Leader for Intranets & Portals at Watson Wyatt, will present an online education and Q&A session titled, “You Built It, But Did They Come? Creating a Dynamic Employee Portal,” through HCI’s HCtv broadcast network. His presentation will cover components of the next generation of employee portals and the communications technologies that can help companies create an effective, well-utilized portal: a single, easy-to-access site that allows a workforce to get whatever information they need, when they need it, for the entire range of work and life events. He will also discuss understanding employee expectations of and motivations for accessing portals, incorporating innovative communications technologies into portals and recognizing common shortcomings that may cause workforces to underutilize portals.

A well-designed portal can enhance communication between a company and its workforce
The Webcast is free with advance registration at HCI’s online Center for Human Capital Excellence, www.humancapitalinstitute.org">www.humancapitalinstitute.org.

“It’s such a privilege to host a thought leader of Michael Rudnick’s caliber, and to know that he is willing to share his knowledge and considerable experience with HCI members,” said Allan Schweyer, HCI’s Executive Director and Senior Vice President, Research. “As creator of the first-ever Intranet for Xerox in 1994, Michael has proven himself as a true pioneer in employee communication technologies, and as a real asset to the continually evolving field of talent management.”

“A well-designed portal can enhance communication between a company and its workforce,” said Rudnick. “But, without the right technology to draw employees in — and make the portal easy and enjoyable to use — its advantages are wasted. I’m glad to have this opportunity to teach HCI’s membership how portals can be effective communication tools and valuable talent management assets.”

HCI’s complimentary Webcast featuring Rudnick is made possible in part by enWisen, a leader in on-demand workforce communications solutions and sponsor of HCI’s “Next Generation Workforce Communication” education and research track. The track, which focuses on the ways in which the best organizations are leveraging next generation communications technology to create a more informed, productive, engaged and satisfied workforce, is one of several topics addressed in HCI’s Talent Strategy community of interest within HCI’s online Center for Human Capital Excellence.
