From now until Election Day 2008, travelers who need a little time to "dry out" and reconnect with their loved ones can, upon request, have their guestroom televisions set to block all news channels and, if desired, all channels that offer daily news programming. Guests can choose from a DVD library of movies filmed in New York, movies that were also Broadway shows, or the hotel's true inspiration, "Casablanca" the movie. Rick's Cafe Hostesses will be advised to help keep the "rehab" guests away from the complimentary newspapers with blaring political headlines and give them gossip or fashion magazines instead.
The Casablanca is also one of the few New York City Hotels in Times Square to offer breakfast complimentary every morning as well as complimentary wine and cheese every evening from 5pm -8pm.
How to Detox
Guests can sign up for Political Rehab by calling the hotel or by reserving rooms online at the Casablanca Hotel website and using the word DETOX as a promotional code. Guests who book by April 30th and use DETOX as a promotional code for reservations arriving during the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day 2008 will also receive a discount of $10 to $50 off their stay.
In addition, to help guests unwind, they will receive a special Red, White and Blue Turndown Service which consists of brie and salt water crackers, garnished with blueberries and honey and served with red wine.
